How to correct or reset match scoring

Correct an active error, request an approved private correction for a completed result, or reset an empty match with explicit confirmation.

1Choose the correction workflow for the match statusFind the match in Scorer dashboard and check whether it is live or completed.
Two workflows
Use the workflow matching the current published state.
Live scoring error — Use Undo on the controlling device to reverse the latest event. An empty live session can return to Scheduled after every active event is undone and synchronized.
Completed result — Open Request correction from the completed match header, or from Match actions on mobile. Ordinary scoring and Undo are unavailable until a correction is approved.
Competition locked — A competition-locked match may not allow correction. Follow the restriction shown rather than changing another match to work around it.

Find the match in Scorer dashboard and check whether it is live or completed.
2Reset a live match only after all active events are undoneOpen Scoring control on the owning device and finish synchronization first.
Prepare the reset
Undo active events until the match has no active scoring events, then synchronize all pending actions. The reset action stays unavailable while active or pending events remain.
Reset match to Scheduled
Open the reset confirmation and review its effect.
Keep Live — Cancel the reset and retain the live scoring session.
Close reset confirmation — Dismiss the confirmation without resetting.
Yes, reset — While online, confirm the reset. It ends current device ownership and returns the match to Scheduled. Existing audit rows are preserved.
Check the outcome — Wait through Resetting and confirm the scheduled state before starting scoring again later.
After this step
Open Scoring control on the owning device and finish synchronization first.
3Explain the completed-score correctionIn Request correction, complete Why does this completed score need correction and choose Send to Super Admin.
Reason
Describe the incorrect ball, wicket, player, period, or result and the official sequence needed. The reason must contain 10 through 1000 characters.
Review states
Read the request status and any Super Admin note.
Waiting for Super Admin review — The completed score remains unchanged. Wait for a decision.
Correction approved — Only the requesting scorer receives the correction access. Start before the displayed deadline.
Correction request rejected — No access was granted and the score did not change. Submit a new request with clearer details if still needed.
Correction approval expired — The score is unchanged. Submit a new request if the correction remains necessary.
Details could not be loaded — Refresh and retry. Do not assume approval or begin changing the score while its status is unavailable.
After this step
In Request correction, complete Why does this completed score need correction and choose Send to Super Admin.
4Start the approved private correctionOpen Approved correction and choose Start approved correction on an online device.
Correction control
Wait until This device controls the correction. Private correction in progress means only staged changes are being edited. If the correction is already open elsewhere, finish on that device. Continue correction here is offered for an in-progress correction when available.
Undo and re-score
Undo the final result first, then undo back through the incorrect event. Re-enter the official sequence using the cricket or football scoring controls. The visible corrected score is a private preview.
Synchronize correction
Check Online, pending, blocked, and Synced. Use Synchronize correction while online when needed. A failed synchronization retains pending correction events.
Published score
Approval and private editing do not change the published score. It changes only after explicit publication or a confirmed empty-match reset.
After this step
Open Approved correction and choose Start approved correction on an online device.
5Publish only the complete corrected resultFinish the corrected scoring sequence, review its final result, and choose Publish corrected result.
Before publishing
Connect to the internet, review the entire corrected result, and resolve synchronization errors. The action is unavailable while busy or while its result prerequisites are missing.
Publication
Wait through Publishing. Check Correction published and reopen the scorecard to verify the saved final result. Further ordinary scoring events are closed.
Failure
If publication fails, retain the private work and follow the error. A preview or a busy button is not a published correction.
After this step
Finish the corrected scoring sequence, review its final result, and choose Publish corrected result.
6Return a fully reversed completed match to ScheduledWhen every scoring event is reversed, the correction screen offers Return match to Scheduled.
Choose the intended result
You can re-score from setup, or explicitly reset the empty match.
Keep completed — Cancel the reset and keep the published result.
Yes, return to Scheduled — While online, confirm that the current published result and actual start/end time will be cleared. Score events, reversals, approval, and prior result revisions stay in the audit history.
Choose a new future time — After the reset, use Match Center for a tournament match or the standalone match editor to schedule a new future time.
Verify Scheduled — Check the match status and management page before treating the reset as complete.
After this step
When every scoring event is reversed, the correction screen offers Return match to Scheduled.
