1Illustrative guideDiagrams explain In App Ticker and supported Floating Ticker.
In App Ticker
Use In App Ticker to keep a movable score card available as you move between pages in the app. It displays cricket or football score information.
Floating Ticker
On a supported desktop, Floating Ticker opens a separate movable score window. Keep the original app open for updates.
About the illustrations
Use the diagrams to follow the score options. Check the messages shown in the app on your device.
After this step
Distinguish an in-app score card from a separate desktop score window.
2Review shared accessCancel stops here. Continue checks the shared pass.
Open an eligible match
Sign in and use an available cricket or football scorecard or match action for a scheduled or live match. Choose In App Ticker or the supported desktop Floating Ticker option.
Cancel and Continue
Cancel closes the explanation without changing the mode. Continue proceeds with access and opening checks. Opening the explanation alone does not start In App Ticker or Floating Ticker.
Shared pass
A match pass covers this match. Month and year cover eligible matches for their duration. The pass is shared with notifications and only one option is active for each match.
Current plan choices
When all three plans are free and no earlier request needs attention, Continue can activate a free match pass. Mixed prices still show plan selection. A selected free plan uses Activate free pass. Read current prices and unavailable choices. Paid access is outside this guide.
After this step
Understand the explanation and pass choices before opening a score display.
3Check the ticker and its detailsCheck the match, then use Show details or Hide details when offered.
Correct match and sport
After In App Ticker opens, check the match name, Cricket or Football label and Upcoming or Live status. The card is labelled In App Ticker. The separate desktop window uses Floating Ticker.
Before play starts
An Upcoming card can show a waiting state. Waiting for the first ball or kickoff is different from an interrupted connection or expired access.
Show details and Hide details
When extra details are available, choose Show details to expand them and Hide details to collapse them. They start collapsed on a newly opened card. The score and summary stay visible. This works in both ticker modes.
After this step
Check the match, sport, status and available details on a ticker.
4Move within the appDrag the handle. Keep the app open across pages.
Move the card
Drag the move handle. With the handle focused, use arrow keys to move it and Home to reset. The card is kept within the available viewport.
Across app pages
In App Ticker is shared across app pages for the signed-in session. It requires the app to stay open.
Background behavior
The score source can pause when the page is hidden without an active Floating Ticker window. Return to the app and check its state before treating the score as current.
After this step
Understand how to move the In App Ticker card and keep it available.
5Check your deviceUse In App Ticker on mobile. Floating Ticker needs desktop support.
Mobile and narrow layouts
Use In App Ticker. The current app hides Floating Ticker on mobile devices and when the original app viewport is narrower than its desktop requirement.
Supported desktop
Floating Ticker requires a supported browser, a secure top-level app page and enough viewport width. Browser support is checked, so not every desktop offers Floating Ticker.
After this step
Recognize when Floating Ticker is unavailable and use In App Ticker appropriately.
6Open desktop Floating TickerKeep the original app open behind the score window.
Open from the visible app
Choose Floating Ticker on a supported desktop and continue through the explanation. The browser requires a current user action while the original app is visible.
After access becomes ready
If the app asks you to select Floating Ticker again, return to that control and choose it. Finishing access asynchronously does not guarantee that the browser opened a window.
Keep the original app open
The separate window can sit above other apps while the original app remains open. Closing the original app closes the floating window.
After this step
Understand the user action and app-open requirements for a native Floating Ticker window.
7One option per matchIn App Ticker, Floating Ticker and Notifications replace each other.
Same match
In App Ticker, Floating Ticker and notifications are alternatives for the same account and match. Selecting another option replaces the current one.
Same pass
Switching uses the remaining valid pass. It does not grant new access or extend its duration.
Other tabs
A choice made elsewhere for the account and match can stop the option in this tab.
After this step
Understand that changing the display replaces the previous score option.
8Manage match limitsUse the current limit and close a ticker when asked.
Different matches
The app can group multiple eligible matches in the In App Ticker display or supported Floating Ticker window, within the current limit. Each match still has one active option.
When the limit is reached
Read the actual message and close an existing ticker before adding another. The configured limit can change.
Choose carefully
Check the match name before closing an individual card. A shared pass does not remove the current simultaneous-match limit.
After this step
Know how to make room for another eligible match.
9When updates pauseReconnect or return to the app before trusting the score.
Source paused
The message Updates paused. Reconnect or return to the app to resume. means the visible score may be the last known value.
Connection and visibility
Reconnect or return to the original app. Floating Ticker needs the original app to remain open, even when it is in the background.
Waiting for play
An Upcoming match waiting for its first ball or kickoff is not the same as a paused score source.
After this step
Distinguish a retained paused score from a fresh update.
10Access and match endExpired access or a completed match stops the display.
Access expires
An expired pass stops the current In App Ticker or Floating Ticker session. For an eligible match, review access and choose the option again once ready.
Match ends
The completed match is removed from the active display. Another pass does not reopen it.
Account or option changes
Signing out, changing account or replacing the active option can remove the card or close its session.
After this step
Know why a score display can stop even when its window was previously open.
11Close when finishedClose the intended card. The remaining pass stays available.
Close one card
The in-app close control is named Close in app ticker. The separate-window card uses Close floating ticker. Check the match before using either.
Close the native window
Closing the floating window stops its floating score sessions. Closing the original app also closes Floating Ticker.
Remaining access
Closing a display does not cancel the remaining pass duration. Other matches remain subject to their own active option, access and match status.
After this step
Choose the correct close action without assuming the pass is cancelled.
