How to verify auction team owners

Assign the correct verified account to each auction team, review private owner media, and arrange owner access before the auction.

1Open the team editorStart in the Organizer workspace and open the tournament's Auction settings.
Find the team
These steps apply to cricket and football auction tournaments.
Organizer dashboard — Find the tournament, open Manage, expand Auction & presentation, and choose Auction settings. Save the required auction setup before managing its teams.
Add or edit teams — Choose Add or edit teams and select the intended team. On a phone, use the team selector and Next or Back through Identity, Owner, Purse, and Review. Desktop shows the same details in the team editor.
Team identity — Enter the team name and short name in Team identity. Upload the public team logo here. Owner identity and private owner photos belong in Owner & media.
Read-only states — Expired practice access, a completed auction, or an ended tournament can prevent edits. Paid auction rules can be locked while team identities remain editable. After team details lock, only the available public logo controls remain editable.
After this step
Start in the Organizer workspace and open the tournament's Auction settings.
2Search for the owner's existing accountOpen Owner & media and search before starting a new account verification.
Search verified owner accounts
Ask the owner for their registered contact details and choose Search.
Name prefix — Enter at least three letters from the start of the registered first or last name. Review the matching names carefully. A name match still requires private contact confirmation.
Complete registered contact — Enter the complete registered email address or mobile number. A matching verified contact can be selected directly with Select.
No matching account — Check spelling and ask for the complete registered contact. A similar name is not enough to identify an owner. If the person has no account, use the new-account section.
Search or confirmation failure — Read the error and retry the search or confirmation. Do not save another person's account just to bypass a failed verification.
Selected owner — The picker shows Verified owner account and the selected name. Choose Change to search again or Keep current to retain the selection. This selection is still part of the team draft.
After this step
Open Owner & media and search before starting a new account verification.
3Confirm a name match privatelyUse the confirmation requested for that result before selecting the owner.
Private confirmation
Hand the device to the owner so they can enter the requested detail privately.
Private last 4 digits required — Choose Confirm on the result. Enter the last four digits of that account's registered mobile number, then choose Confirm & select.
Private exact email required — Choose Confirm and use the masked registered email hint to identify the account. Enter the complete registered email privately, then choose Confirm & select. The complete email is checked securely and is not displayed or saved in this picker.
Wrong contact or person — Choose Cancel to return to the results. Search for the correct account instead of guessing another person's private contact.
Confirmation in progress — Wait while Confirming is shown. Continue only after the selected verified account appears. A failed confirmation does not assign the owner.
After this step
Use the confirmation requested for that result before selecting the owner.
4Verify a new owner's WhatsApp numberUse Owner not found? Verify a new account only after checking for an existing account.
New owner verification
Ownership must be verified before the new account can be selected.
Full name and mobile — Enter the owner's real full name. Select Owner mobile country separately, then enter their mobile number. Correct any country or number validation before sending.
Send WhatsApp code — Choose Send WhatsApp code and wait for the delivery result. A delivery warning is not a verified account. If the number belongs to an existing account, return to the existing-account search.
Enter the code privately — Ask the owner to enter the six-digit WhatsApp verification code on the same device. Verification starts automatically after the sixth digit. The Verify control can also submit the code when available.
Successful verification — Wait until the new verified owner is selected. Only successful verification makes the account available for team assignment. Team details still require Save all teams.
Incorrect or expired code — Follow the displayed error. An incorrect code or a temporary verification limit can leave the challenge open for correction or retry. If it has expired, request another code when the countdown permits.
Resend WhatsApp code — Use Resend WhatsApp code only after its countdown ends. Wait for the new delivery result and enter the current code. Do not assume an unconfirmed delivery means no message was sent.
Cancel owner verification — Choose Cancel owner verification to clear the current verification flow and return to owner selection.
Security and connectivity checks — Complete any security check shown. After a connection failure, check whether the code arrived and retry verification. Request another code only when needed and allowed.
After this step
Use Owner not found? Verify a new account only after checking for an existing account.
5Review owner details and private photosKeep the public team logo separate from the owner's private photo.
Owner & media
Review these details for the selected team.
Owner details or occupation — Enter the optional owner description if required for the event.
Profile photo — The owner's profile photo supplies the private owner image when available. It does not replace the team's public logo.
Choose or replace photo — Choose an image or replace the current custom image. Use Edit crop to open the Team media editor.
Crop controls — Use Zoom, Horizontal position, Vertical position, Rotate left, or Rotate right to frame the image. Choose Different Image replaces the input. Choose Use Edited Image and wait for optimization before continuing.
Restore or remove override — Choose Restore profile photo when a profile photo is available. Otherwise use Remove custom photo to clear the custom override.
Close the crop editor — Close the image editor when you do not want to apply the current edit. Saving an image edit still leaves team changes to be saved.
After this step
Keep the public team logo separate from the owner's private photo.
6Review and save every teamSave all teams submits the complete editor, including changes to other teams.
Before saving
Use Purse & roster and Review to check the complete draft.
Purse and roster — Review each team's Total amount or Wallet, Max bid amount or Max bid, selected players, and remaining players. Player counts are derived from the roster and cannot be changed as a shortcut.
Review all teams — Check names, verified owners, photos, purses, and player capacity for every team you edited. Switching the selected team does not save the previous one.
Save all teams — Choose Save all teams and wait for completion. Reopen or review the saved team list and owner assignments before treating the change as complete.
Validation or save failure — Correct the marked fields and try again. Keep the draft open while resolving a failed save. A selected owner or a finished crop is not proof that the team was saved.
Close with unsaved changes — In Discard unsaved team changes, choose Keep editing to retain the draft or Discard changes to close without saving it. Previously saved teams stay unchanged.
After this step
Save all teams submits the complete editor, including changes to other teams.
7Arrange the owner's live auction accessA verified team assignment and a live access entitlement are separate requirements.
Choose the funding mode
Review the current plan and displayed prices in Auction settings.
Practice auction — Practice uses five included live connections. Paid owner-seat purchases and capacity top-ups are not available for the practice plan.
Prepay owner-seat credits — Choose this mode when the organizer will fund owner access. Review the owner-seat count and current rate before continuing. Paid credits must still be reserved to named owners.
Owner-paid — Choose this mode when each assigned owner should buy their own dedicated auction pass before entering. Saving an owner assignment does not include a sponsored seat.
Reserve credits in the Auction Room — After saving teams, open Auction Room and Team-owner access. Choose team owners, select the current verified owners to sponsor, and review the total. Unassigned credits are used first.
Sponsor selected owners — Choose Sponsor the displayed number of owner seats or Use existing sponsored seats as appropriate. Wait through Sponsoring owner access and verify the updated owner access status.
Changed owners — If an assignment changes, select the current owner explicitly. Unassigned purchased credits can remain available, but must not be assumed to follow an old owner assignment automatically.
Existing personal passes — An owner's already purchased personal pass stays active. Sponsoring them does not refund that purchase or convert it to an organizer credit.
Resume an interrupted request — Use Resume owner-seat request for the existing attempt if the payment outcome is uncertain. Do not start a second payment while the first may have reached the provider. Follow the displayed cancellation or reconciliation instructions.
Locked settings — Paid auction rules being locked does not by itself prevent reserving paid credits to current owners before the auction ends. An ended auction can stop fulfilment and require payment reconciliation.

A verified team assignment and a live access entitlement are separate requirements.
