1Open the join formOpen Fantasy dashboard, choose My contests, then start joining a private contest.
What you need
Joining requires the host's ten-character invite code and one saved Fantasy team owned by the signed-in player.
One team per player
A player can have only one entry in a contest. Repeating the same join returns the existing entry instead of adding another.
Private invitation
Use the code shared with you by the host. Keep it private and check the contest details before joining with your team.
After this step
The invite-code form is visible for the second synthetic player.
2Verify the invite codeEnter the host's invite code and continue to the contest.
Invite code
Required. Enter all ten characters. The server trims spaces, matches without letter case, and rejects a code that does not identify a visible open contest.
Continue
Checks the invitation and shows the teams you can enter for that contest's tournament or match.
Invalid or unavailable invite
The server checks the code before exposing the contest.
Invalid or unknown code — Fewer than ten characters fails the form. A mistyped or unknown ten-character code returns Not found.
Unavailable — A contest the viewer cannot join is not revealed through an invite-code lookup.
After this step
The invite is verified and the matching-team form opens.
3Choose the matching teamSelect the exact saved team allowed for the verified contest scope.
Exact saved team
Required. The team must be owned by the signed-in player and must match both the contest tournament and its match ID, including a blank match ID for a tournament-wide contest.
Tournament contest — Choose the saved tournament team whose match scope is blank.
Fixture contest — Choose the saved team for that exact scheduled fixture, not another match in the same tournament.
Individual-match contest — Choose the exact-match team and remain an eligible member of that individual match.
Why joining can stop
The server checks the team, eligibility, capacity, and lock state together before inserting an entry.
Full — The current entry count has already reached the contest's maximum capacity.
Locked — The contest is not open, its target has no upcoming valid match, its start time has passed, or the Fantasy scope has locked.
Scope mismatch — The selected team is not owned by this player or does not match the contest's exact tournament and match scope.
Not eligible or disabled — The player lacks current tournament or individual-match eligibility, Fantasy is disabled where required, or the contest points to an invalid standalone scope.
After this step
The second player's exact matching saved team is selected.
4Join as the second playerSubmit the matching team as the contest's second entry.
Join contest
The server locks the contest row while checking capacity, which prevents two players from taking the same final place.
Already joined
If this player already has an entry, the existing entry is kept and the page reports that the contest was already joined.
No silent substitution
The selected team ID is validated exactly. The app does not silently choose the oldest or another matching team for this join.
After this step
The join request starts for the exact synthetic contest and saved team.
5Confirm the joined contestConfirm success and review the updated entry count.
Success message
Contest joined successfully confirms that your selected team has entered. Already joined means your existing entry remains in the contest.
Contest card
The card shows the contest's tournament or match, status, current rank when available, invite code and current entries against capacity.
Membership visibility
Private contest details and entry counts are available only to people with permission to view that contest.
After this step
The second player sees the joined contest and its updated entry count.
6Review the standingsOpen standings and find the second player's highlighted team.
Standings count
The count at the top compares joined teams with the contest capacity. It should now include the host and second player.
Points and rank
Rows use current Fantasy points. Higher points rank first, equal points share a dense rank, and deterministic team ordering keeps equal-point rows stable.
Your team
Only the signed-in player's row receives the Your team marker, making the exact submitted saved team easy to confirm.
Privacy boundary
The participant-gated standings return presentation keys and redacted team names, never account IDs, saved-team IDs, phone numbers, or the invite code.
After this step
The participant-safe standings list both synthetic teams and highlight the second player's entry.

Expected result

Your matching saved team joins the contest and appears in the standings with the other entries.
