How to add teams and players to a tournament

Open a manual tournament, add two teams and their player rosters, then save the changes.

1Open tournament settingsFind the tournament from the Organizer dashboard, open its overview, then choose Edit.
Organizer dashboard
Begin on the real organizer landing page and search the bounded tournament card list for the isolated manual tournament.
Manage and Setup
Open Manage on the matching card, choose Setup, then select Tournament overview.
Tournament workspace
The overview confirms the selected tournament before any setup changes are made.
Actions
Open the tournament action menu on desktop or mobile.
Edit
Choose Edit from the shared action menu to open the existing tournament.
Actions — Opens the tournament action menu.
Edit — Opens the existing tournament in the editing wizard.
After this step
The tournament editing wizard opens.
2Open teams and rosterConfirm Cricket on desktop or Football on mobile, then continue to Teams and roster.
Saved details
The tournament name, sport, status, visibility, artwork, dates, venue, setup mode, description, and player-facing counts remain filled in.
Step navigation
Use Next to review Details, Schedule, and Setup before reaching Roster. Moving between steps retains the current entries.
Both supported sports
Desktop demonstrates a manual Cricket roster. Mobile changes its isolated tournament to Football before using the same team and player controls.
Excel roster import
The roster can be entered manually or loaded from the supported two-column workbook.
Download template — Gets the workbook with Team Name and Player Name columns.
Upload Excel — Loads a supported .xlsx workbook into the roster draft.
Add missing entries — Merges only teams and players not already in the draft.
Replace draft roster — Makes the editor match the workbook. Final save is still required.
After this step
The manual roster editor is visible.
3Add the first teamAdd a team, name it, and enter its players.
Add team
Creates a new team card with a generated draft name that can be replaced.
Team name
Required. Every team name must be unique, ignoring letter case.
Add player
Adds another required player-name field to this team.
Player name
Required. A player name cannot appear twice within the same team.
Remove controls
Before fixtures protect the roster, the trash buttons can remove an unwanted draft team or player.

Tutorial Strikers has two synthetic players.
4Add the second teamRepeat the same process for the second team.
Second team
Select Add team again, then give the new card a name different from every existing team.
Second roster
Use Add player on the second team card so each player is assigned to the intended roster.
Additional entries
The same controls can add more teams and players before fixtures lock the roster structure.
After this step
Tutorial Challengers has two synthetic players.
5Review and saveReview the team and player totals, then save the tournament.
Roster summary
Confirm the team count, player count, and listed team names before saving.
Edit controls
Return to Setup or Roster if the mode, names, or assignments need correction.
Save tournament
Runs roster validation and persists all draft team and player changes together.
Removal confirmation
When an edit removes persisted teams or players, an explicit confirmation appears before save. Unsafe removals remain blocked by fixtures.
After this step
The server confirms that the tournament and roster changes were saved.
6Verify the saved rosterReturn to the tournament workspace, reopen Edit, confirm every saved roster value, then review the persisted totals.
Persisted read-back
After the successful redirect, leave the submitted wizard and reopen Edit from the tournament workspace so a fresh wizard loads the saved roster.
Roster values
Confirm both Tutorial team names and all four Tutorial player names before returning to Review.
Saved totals
The Review summary must report two teams and four players from the reloaded tournament data.
After this step
The reloaded tournament reports two persisted teams and four persisted players.

Expected result

Two teams and four roster players are saved to the manual tournament.
